Many times when coyote problems in Massachusetts occur repeatedly in the same general area it is the same coyote or pack of coyotes that is causing the problem. When this is the case then removal of the coyotes that are causing the problem is usually the recommended course of action. Additionally, problem coyotes may be excluded from pastures, yards, fields or orchards as a preventative measure. We offer professional coyote removal and exclusion services. The eastern coyote is the newest predator species in Massachusetts. As the western coyote expanded its range it is presumed to have interbred with wolves in Canada and created a new sub-species that is genetically part wolf. Most coyote are loners, also called transients and may have a home range of 30 square miles or more. An alpha pair will usually stay together and defend a smaller home range in which they will breed and rear their young. Coyote mate in late winter with 4-8 pups being born in late spring. Rabies and mange are known to be present in the coyote population. Although classified as a carnivore a coyote will eat nearly anything. Coyote are usually very secretive and are seldom seen. If a coyote is seen repeatedly in the same area or is acting aggressively it may be a sign of trouble.
